If Sin x=-12/13 and tan x is positive, find the values of cos x and tan x.

since tan x is positive, then cos x is also negative, by well known identity


cos \: x = - \sqrt{1 - {sin}^(2) x} = - (5)/(13)

hence


tan \: x = (sin \: x)/(cos \: x) = (12)/(5)
