The gravitational field strength on the moon is
(1)/(6) of the gravitational field strength on the earth

On the earth:

the gravitational field strength (g) is determined as:

g=G(m)/(r^2)

where:

  • G: the gravitational constant
  • m: the mass of the earth
  • r: the radius of the earth

g=9.8 N/kg = 9.8 m/s^2

Then on the moon:

g=[tex](1)/(6)*9.8=1.6 N/kg[/tex]

The answer will be : A.1.6 N/kg
