For Andrew Carnegie the success of wealthy industrialist helped the entire nation.

Providing the people of the country with jobs, and letting the country enjoy of the benefits of the technological advances that this companies discovered and development. Andrew gave millions of dollars in the Johnstown reconstruction and many millions more throughout the life to his favorite cause that was the libraries construction as he wanted to be remembered for the good he had done.
