Let width be w
and length be l
therefore l = 3 + w

perimeter = 2( l + w )
98 = 2(3 + w + w)
98 = 6 + 2w + 2w
98 - 6 = 4w
92 = 4w
92/4 = w
23 = width
width = 23 inches

As l = 3 + w ,
so length = 26 inches

Hope this helps ♥

Answer:

26 inches

Explanation:

Let l is length of rectangele and w is width of rectangle.

The formula for perimeter of rectangle is

P = 2l+2w

From question statement, we observe that

l = 3+w eq(1)

and P = 98 in

Putting given values in formula, we have

98 = 2(3+w)+2w

98 = 6+2w+2w

98 = 6 +4w

simplifying , we have

98-6 = 4w

92 = 4w

w = 92/4

w = 23 in

Putting the value of width in eq(1), we have

l = 3+23 = 26 in

Hence, the length of rectangle is 26 inches.
