Explanation:

Amy's solution is wrong because

4x - 2 (0.5x + 1) = 4 it gives

4x -2(0.5x) + -2(1) = 4 then

4x - x + (-2) = 4

4x - x - 2 = 4

3x - 2 = 4

3x = 4 + 2

3x = 6 divide each side by 3, then x = 2

y = 0.5(2) +1

y = 1 + 1 =2 then the solution is (2 , 2)

from the graph the two lines intersected at the point (2 , 2)
