A SYSTEM is a set of interrelated parts that function as a whole to achieve a common purpose.

Think of a car. It is a set of different parts (engine, tires, brakes, transmission, etc.). All of the parts do a different thing, but are all a part of the same system (your car). They all work together to achieve the common goal of making your car run.
