Answer:

possible number of students can be 2 , 4 or 5

Explanation:

Given:

Total number of cookies = 20

Total number of pizza slices = 40

Now,

The ration of Pizza to Cookies =
\frac{\textup{40}}{\textup{20}} = 2:1

therefore,

For every 1 cookie a student can have 2 pizzas

Now,

let the number of students be x and y be the number of cookies each student had

therefore,

x × y = 20

here,

we can have

x = 1 and y = 20

x = 2 and y = 10

x = 4 and, y = 5

x = 5 and y = 4

hence,

the possible number of students can be 2 , 4 or 5
