well first you have to use the formula U=mgh, U being pontential energy, m being mass, g being gravity (9.8m/s^2 on earth), and h being height. so you plug them in. U= (3.8 kg)(9.8 m/s^2)(12 m) = 446.9 J. So your answer is D. 446.9 J
