Step 1:

First you find how much you get in one week with $11.75/hr and 40 hr/wk:

11.75 * 40 = 470
You earn $470 a week without the overtime

Step 2:
Since you are being paid 1.5 times your regular
rate, you multiply your regular rate by 1.5.
Regular rate was given to us as $11.75.

11.75 * 1.5 = 17.625
Then you round up the the nearest cent and get $17.63/hr for 20 hours. Next you find the total amount you get for 20 hours:

17.63 * 20 = 352.60
You earn $352.60 for the 20 hours of overtime

Step 3:

Add the two values together

470.00 + 352.60 = 822.60
All together you will earn $822.60.
