(a) The side length of the square is 8 m, so its area is 64 square m.

(b) The radius of the circle is 4 m, so its area is
(\pi)(4^(2))=16\pi square m.

(c) Subtracting areas, we get the area of the shaded region is
64-16\pi square m.
