Let the greater number be x and the smaller number be y

A.T.Q,

x+y=32 ...(1)

x=3y ...(2)

putting the value of x from (2) in (1)

(3y)+y=32

4y=32

y= 32/4=8

x=3y

x=3(8)=24

x=24 , y=8
