Some things from Hamilton (the musical) are inaccurate.
Angelica Schuyler sings about how she has no brothers. This is inaccurate, as she does have a brother.
Alexander Hamilton never punched the Bursar. This is inaccurate. Lin Manuel Miranda just couldn't resist the rhyme.
Angelica Schuyler sings a song about how she isn't married and how she wants to marry Alexander. This is inaccurate, as she was married to John Church before she met Alexander.
Lafayette, Mulligan, and Laurens all sing about how they aren't married yet and how Hamilton was (surprisingly) the first one. This is inaccurate. They were married before Hamilton, all of them.
Burr was never involved in the Laurens and Lee duel.
Phillip Hamilton did not die until after the election of 1800 in the duel between him and George Eacker, who was said to be caught cheating. This is inaccurate, as Eacker never cheated.
So as you can see, many of the dramatic scenes in Hamilton are inaccurate and are just there for entertainment.
