The source are all listed alphabetically depending on the first word of the source entry. For sources with known authors, the author's last name would determine its order on the Works Cited page. If a source has no author then the source's title would be the next determining factor. Date of access has no bearing on the Works Cited page order as sometimes there are many sources with the same date of access. Also, a Works Cited page is designed to help the reader identify where cited information from the paper originated. This then lets the reader access that source if he or she wants to learn more. Using alphabetical order just like a dictionary or index is easiest for the reader.
