How are stem cells similar to cancer

cancer cells are cells that divide and reproduce abnormally with uncontrolled growth... the stem cell theory of cancer proposes that among all cancerous cells, a few act as stem cells that reproduce and sustain the cancer, similar to normal stem cells normally renewing and sustaining our organs and tissues.
