30 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP

How did the U.S. respond to the reports of the Holocaust and death camps during the war?

What non-Jewish groups were targeted during the Holocaust? What happened to them?

What happened after people in the camps were liberated?

1. America responds by contacting the FDR who establishes the War Refugee Board with the Red Cross to rescue thousands of Eastern European Jews, but little was done to destroy the camps themselves; most did not know the seriousness of the Holocaust until after the liberation of the camps at the end of World War II.

2. Many other groups that were targeted were gypsies, homosexuals, the disabled, and catholic people. Many of these people were prisoned or sent to concentration camps. Many cases also included murder.

3. Many of the people liberated died shortly after because they had diseases, suffered from starvation, or committed suicide. Many others that survived had to start their life over but with great difficulty.
