Two angles are complimentary. The larger angle is 3 degrees less than twice the measure of the smaller angle. Find the measure of each angles.

31 and 59

Explanation:

Complimentary angles are angles which add to 90 degrees. The larger of the angles is "3 degrees less than twice the smaller". This is 2x-3. The smaller angle is x. Add them together and solve for x.

2x-3 + x =90

3x-3=90

3x=93

x= 31

The smaller angle is 31. The larger angle is 2(31)-3 = 59.
