The correct answer is B) Men are more likely to vote Republican and women are more likely to vote Democrat.

The gender gap affects political parties in that Men are more likely to vote Republican and women are more likely to vote Democrat.

The voter gender gap is commonly considered as a term that differentiates the number of male and females that vote for a political candidate. To calculate the gender gap, the formula is a simple one. Subtract the percentage of man that voted for a candidate from the percentage of woman that voted. In the last three elections, the gender gap has been: 2008, 8 points. 2012, 10 points. 2016, 11 points.

The gender gap affect political parties because (B.) men are more likely to vote Republicans and women are more likely to vote Democrats.

While men have supported the Republican Party for a long time, it has been proved that more women have been voting for the Democrats since 1992. The reason why more women have been favouring the Democratic Party lately is because, in the last years, Republicans have withdrawn financial support from programs such as Planned Parenthood and they have not enforced anti-discrimination laws nor laws related to equal opportunity. In the presidential elections of 2016, Hillary Clinton's gender gap hit 13%.
