Donna has a rope that is 6 meters long. She cuts away a piece that is 2.77 meters long. How long is the remaining piece of rope?

The remaining rope is 3.23 meters long.

Explanation:

Subtract 6 and 2.77.

6 - 2.77 = 3.23

And remember:

When you are adding or subtracting decimals, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS line up the numbers WITH the decimals!!
