Complete your work in the space provided or upload a file that can display math symbols if your work requires it. Include the entire process for establishing a set of equations, the solution, and an explanation of what the solution means in terms of thevariables. Follow the process for establishing a set of equations: Choose a variable to represent one of the unknowns. Express the remaining unknowns in terms of the variable you chose in step 1. Look for a relationship between the unknowns given in the problem. Write an equation. (Look for the other relationship given in the problem.) The tens digit of a number is twice the ones digit. Answer:

Let the once digit of the number is x,

According to the question,

The tens digit of the number = 2x

Also, the sum of the these two digit of the number = 12

⇒ x + 2x = 12

⇒ 3x = 12

x = 4

Therefore, the once digit of the number = 4

And, the tens digit of the number = 2x = 2×4 = 8

Thus, the number = the place value of tens digit + the place value of the once digit = 80 + 4 = 84
