When Carbon Dioxide is released into the atmosphere it traps more of the infrared radiation produced by the sun, that is reflected by objects on the earth's surface, in our atmosphere. Even though Natural gas may be the cleanest of all the fossil fuels it still contributes to increases in global temperatures.
