  • Interference is one of the property when two waves travelling in the same medium superpose or meet at a point.
  • When waves strike other waves they combine, to form an interference. Interference may be constructive or destructive. Constructive interference occurs when the amplitudes of two waves involved have the same sign then they will add together to form a wave with a larger amplitude.
  • If the two amplitudes have opposite signs, they will subtract to form a combined wave with a lower amplitude. This is known as destructive interference.
