The speed of a spaceship is going warp 7.58. What is the velocity of the spaceship in cm/min. Assume 1.00 warp = 2.5 times the speed of light

Speed of light= 2.9979x10^8 m/s

Answer : The velocity of the spaceship is,
3408.6* 10^(10)cm/min

Solution :

As we are given that,

1.00\text{ wrap }=2.5* \text{The speed of light}

The speed of a spaceship = 7.58 wraps

So,
7.58\text{ wrap }=7.58* 2.5* \text{The speed of light}

The speed of light =
2.9979* 10^8m/s

Now put the value of speed of light in above expression, we get

So,
7.58\text{ wrap }=(7.58)* (2.5)* (2.9979* 10^8m/s)=56.81* 10^8m/s

The velocity of the spaceship =
56.81* 10^8m/s

Now we have to convert the velocity of the spaceship m/s to cm/min.

Conversion :

(1 m = 100 cm)

(1 min = 60 sec)

The velocity of the spaceship =
(56.81* 10^8)* 100* 60cm/min=3408.6* 10^(10)cm/min

Therefore, the velocity of the spaceship is,
3408.6* 10^(10)cm/min
