Human trafficking de-humanizes people because they are treated like commodities. This makes the trafficked people lose dignity and their intrinsic value. This ultimately leads to very low self-esteem of the trafficked people because they feel less of human beings. This causes them to have less respect for their bodies and therefore are easy prey for sex pests. This increases their chances of acquiring HIV and infection others.
