Answer:

Choice a is correct answer.

Explanation:

Given equation is:

2x² = 72

We have to find the value of x.

Multiplying by 1/2 to both sides of above equation,we get

1/2(2x²) = 1/2(72)

x² = 36

Taking square root to both sides of above equation, we get

√x² = √36

As 36 is square of ±6,hence

x = √(±6)²

x = ±6 which is the answer.

Answer:

x = -6, 6

Explanation:

2x^2=72

Divide each side by 2

2/2x^2 =72/2

x^2 = 36

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(x^2) = ±sqrt(36)

x = ±6
