Answer:

2x^2y +4xy^2 = 2xy(x+2y)

Explanation:

2x^2y +4xy^2

2x^2y = 2xxy

4xy^2 = 2*2xyy

We want to bring out the common terms

2xy is common to both terms

2x^2y = 2xxy = 2xy (x)

4xy^2 = 2*2xyy= 2xy (2y)

When we bring out the common terms, we add what is left

2x^2y +4xy^2 = 2xy(x+2y)
