To find the length of the missing side x, use Tan trigonometric formula

Tan:
(opposite)/(Adjacent)

Tan 21 =
(10.5)/(x)

Tan 21 ×
(1)/(10.5) =
(10.5)/(x)×
(1)/(10.5)

(10.5)/(Tan 21)=x

x=27.4

X= 27.4 ft

Hope it helps!

Answer:

x = 27.4 ft

Explanation:

Here given:

  • opposite side: 10.5 ft
  • adjacent side: x ft
  • to that angle: 21°

So, use tan rule:

\sf tan(\theta) = (opposite)/(adjacent)

insert values

\sf tan(21) = (10.5)/(x)

make 'x' subject

\sf x= (10.5)/(tan(21) )

calculate value

\sf x = 27.35343...

rounded to nearest tenth

\sf x = 27.4 \ ft
