Media played a major role in the Vietnam war. Footage of Vietnam was constantly shown on TV to even children. The media showed the horror of the war that Americans didn't even wan't America to be in.

This led to very strong opinions about Vietnam because of media.

The media asserted that America lost the war as there was much negative media coverage which undermined the US. Considering there was a lot of casualties which resulted in lower levels of support for the war. Some people believe it was the media that resulted in the defeat and caused the disillusionment.
