m = y2 - y1/ x2 - x1 is how you find the m in y=mx+b

(I converted the fractions to decimals)

substitute you slope and (x,y)

y = mx + b

-5 = -0.875(4) + b

-5 = -3.50 + b

-1.50 = b

b = -1.50

then just convert back to a fraction
