The Soviet Union was the Union of communist countries that existed from 1922 to 1991. It was the union of fourteen Soviet Socialist Republics and One Soviet Federated Socialist Republic. The union consisted of Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan. Vladimir Lenin was the first head of soviet Russia. The main idea behind its formation was to provide economic and social rights to everyone. The USSR split up in 1991 and all the former members of the USSR became free.
