Pregnancy (or a woman who wants to become pregnant) is one of the major countraindications of misoprostol.

Misoprostol is a prescribed medication when treating or preventing gastric or duodenal ulcer.

In pregnant women, or women whose pregnancy is not excluded or planning pregnancy, misoprostol has a potent activity on the contractility of the uterine muscle, and may result in termination of pregnancy.

The contraindications are:

*Hypersensitivity misoprostol

*Prostaglandin hypersensitivity

*Hypersensitivity castor oil

*Absence of effective female contraception

*Woman considering a pregnancy

*Pregnancy

*Breastfeeding

*Malignant gastric tumor

*Child under 12 years
