Total distance between the cyclists = 84 miles.

Time taken to cover this distance = 4 hours

Let the speed of slow cyclist is x miles per hour. The speed of faster cyclist would be 2x miles per hour as he is 2 times faster.

Since they are riding toward each other, their relative speed will be the sum of their individual speeds.

So relative speed = x + 2x = 3x miles per hour

Distance = Speed * Time

84 = 4(3x) = 12x

Thus, x = 7 miles per hour

Speed of faster cyclist is 2x = 14 miles per hour
