This is a map of the mars exploration rover opportunity predicted landing site on mars. the scale is 1cm : 9.4km. What are the approximate measures of the actual length and width of the ellipse?

I mostly need to know how to set it up :)

Answer: The actual length and actual width of the ellipse are 2.12 cm and 2.65 cm.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

The scale of mars is

1\ cm:9.4\ km

since we know that the dimension of ellipse is

20\ km\ by\ 25\ km

so, According to scale,

1\ cm=9.4\ km\\\\1\ km=(1)/(9.4)\ cm\\\\20\ km=(20)/(9.4)\ cm\\\\20\ km=2.12\ cm

Similarly,

1\ cm=9.4\ km\\\\1\ km=(1)/(9.4)\ cm\\\\25\ km=(25)/(9.4)\ cm\\\\25\ km=2.65\ cm

Hence, the actual length and actual width of the ellipse are 2.12 cm and 2.65 cm.
