Due to bad planning, two of the local schools have their annual plays on the same weekend. While 457 people attend one, and 372 attend the other, only 104 people were able to attend both. How many people went to at least one play?

Answer:

625 people attended at least one play.

Explanation:

In the given question number of people who attended annual play 1 were=457 and number of people who attended annual play 2 = 372

The people who attended both were 104. Now we can say number of persons who attended the play 1 only = 457-104 = 357

And number of people who attended play 2 only = 372-104 =268

Therefor the people who attended at least one play = 357+268 = 625

So the answer is 625 people.
