y=2x-11

Explanation:

arralel lines have same gradient

since gradient of the known line is 2( the coefficient of x), it therefore follows that the gradient of the second line we want to find is also 2

So we know the gradient of the second line is 2, and we have one known point (7,3). We can therefore apply the formula for finding gradient to come up with the line


2=(y-3)/(x-7) \\\\y-3=2(x-7)\\\\y-3=2x-14\\\\y=2x-14+3\\\\y=2x-11
