Answer:

y = -3/2x +7/2

Explanation:

When we have two points, we need to find the slope.

Slope is given by

m = (y2-y1)/ (x2-x1)

= (5--1)/ (-1-3)

= (5+1)/ (-4)

= 6/-4

= -3/2

We have the slope and a point

Using the point slope form of a line

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y--1 = -3/2( x-3)

y+1 = -3/2(x-3)

They usually want the line written in slope intercept form (y=mx+b)

Distribute the -3/2

y+1 = -3/2x +9/2

Subtract 1

y+1-1 = -3/2x +9/2 -2/2

y = -3/2x +7/2
