So normally when x is in the numerator, you multiply both sides of the equation by whatever the denominator is to cancel out the fraction. But in this case since you don't have the fraction alone, you normally want to isolate it first So let's do that

Original equation:


(x)/(4)+7=27

Subtract 7 from both sides


(x)/(4)=20

Multiply both sides by 4 to cancel out the denominator:


x=80
