PLEASE HELP I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO MY MATH PROJECT THAT'S DUE IN AN HOUR

You want to plant a flower garden in your yard. There are two types of flowers that you are going to be planting. You will be planting some tulips and geraniums. At the store tulips come in packs of 6 and geraniums come in packs of 9.

What is the least amount of packs of geraniums and tulips you would need to buy to have the same amount of each?

How many should you have of each kind of flower?

1. You will need 3 packs of tulips and 2 packs of geraniums.
2. You should have 18 flowers of each kind

Step-by-step explanation:
1. To find the number of packets, the easiest way (in my opinion) would be to find the LCM (least common multiple)
To do so, first, you would need to list the factors of 6 and 9 in order
6: 6 12 18 24 30
9: 9 18 27 36 45

Then, you can find the LCM by finding the same number that comes first in each list (18)

2. To find how many packets, all you have to do is divide 18 by 6 and 18 by 9 because there are 6 flowers in one packet, and 9 flowers in the other.

Hope this helps!
