Answer: 3 minutes

Explanation:

d = 3t ---------- lets call this (1)

but d = 9

Replace d = 9 in (1)

9 = 3t

To get t, we divide bothside by 3

9/3 = 3t/3

3 = t

Therefore t=3

Answer:

27 inches

Explanation:

We have been given the equation d = 3t

The distance (d) is in inches that a snail is from a certain rock and the time (t ) is in minutes

Plugging t=9 in the given equation d = 3t

d=3(9)\\d=27\text{ inches}

Hence, the snail is 27 inches from the rock.
