Our initial cost is $55

Our variable cost is $19.50 / month (lets call it 19.50m)

Chelsey has $250 dollars to spend.

Our equation would be as follows:

19.50m + 55 = 250 (this tells how many months plus the initial cost will be covered by the 250 dollars)


19.50m +55 -55 = 250 - 55

19.50m = 195

19.50m/19.50 = 195/19.50

m = 10

Chelsey can afford the initial membership fee and 10 months of club membership.
