The colony of penguins travel 3/5 of a kilometer a day. How many kilometers will they travel in a week.

(2*3 is the same as 2x3 in multiplication)

Since in a week there are 7 days, you multiply the number of days to the distance walked per day. Which is 7*(3/5), or (3/5)*7

So (3/5)*7=4 1/5 or 4.2

(3/5)*7 equals

(3/5)+(3/5)+(3/5)+(3/5)+(3/5)+(3/5)+(3/5)=(21/5)

There are four 5's in 21, so it is 4 wholes.
