Rachel is a stunt driver, and she's escaping from a building that is about to explode!

The variable
d models Rachel's distance from her exit (in meters) t seconds after the cameras began recording the stunt.
d=−38t+220d=-38t+220
d=−38t+220

What is Rachel's speed?

Answer: 38 meter per second

Explanation:

Given: The variable d models Rachel's distance from her exit (in meters) t seconds after the cameras began recording the stunt.

d=-38t+220

where -38 is the rate of change of function .

Since speed is the rate of change of position with respect to time , thus

Speed =-38 meter per second which shows decrease in distance with respect to time.

At t=0 second, d=220 meters

At t=1 second ,
d=-38+220 =182 meters

Distance traveled in 1 second = 220-182=38

Now, Rachel's speed=
(Distance)/(time)

Rachel's speed=
(38)/(1)=38 meter per second
