Please help!! Having a hard time with this! Bob can buy individual songs for $1.00 to download, or an entire album costs $10.00 to download. He can spend no more than a total of $60. He wants to buy at least three albums, and no more than 35 individual songs.

The following system of inequalities represents this situation, where x is the number of individual songs and y is the number of albums.

x + 10y ≤ 60

x ≤ 35

y ≥ 3

Which yellow shaded region corresponds to Bob’s possible choices?

Answer:

second one listed

Explanation:

second one given--he can buy between 3 and 6 albums; and 0 to 30 songs

(if he were to buy exactly 3 albums, he could not buy more than 30 songs; which is why that portion of the graph is not shaded)

(shaded = possible)

hope this helps!
