Explanation:

Parallel lines never cross and therefore have the same exact slope. Since slope intercept form is y=mx+b and m is slope, then y=1/4x+2 has a slope of 1/4. Any line with a slope of 1/4 will be parallel. Example: y=1/4x - 5
