a) 3.5+2x
b)2 hr
workings
a)4 hr= 28+16x
30min= (28+16×)÷8
= 3.5+2x
b) 30min =3.5+2x
(14+8x)÷ (3.5+2x)
=4
30 min ×4 = 2hr
