4x-2y=-1

-4x+4y=-2

Add these two equations together to elimianate x

4x-2y=-1

-4x+4y=-2

2y = -3

Divide by 2

2y/2 =-3/2

y = -1.5

Now we need to find x

4x-2y =-1

4x -2(-1.5) = -1

4x +3 = -1

Subtract 3 from each side

4x+3-3 =-1-3

4x= -4

x=-1
