3x-2y=12

Add these two equations together to eliminate y

2x+2y=-2

3x-2y=12

5x = 10

Divide by 5

5x/5 = 10/5

x = 2

Now we need to find y

2x+2y = -2

2(2) +2y = -2

4+2y = -2

Subtract 4 from each side

4-4 +2y = -2-4

2y = -6

Divide by 2

y = -3
