Answer: 1.) 196.48 ft^2. 2.) 128 in^2. 3.) 41 cm^2. 4.) There are no dimensions for this problem. 5.) 63 m^2 6.) 104 yd^2.

Explanation:

1. Use the area of circle formula and divide it by 2 to find the area of the hemisphere: pi*r^2. 3.14*8^2=64*3.14=200.96/2=100.48 Then multiply 8*12 to find the area of the rectangle. 8*12=96. Then Add the two values: 100.48+96=196.48. So the answer is 196.48 ft^2

2. Subtract 19 from 13 to get the height of the triangle, then multiply that by 8*1/2 which is 6*8*1/2=24. Then multiply 13*8=104 and add it to 24 to get 128. So the answer is 128 in^2.

3. Multiply 5*5 and 4*4 then add them together. 25+16=41. So the answer is 41 cm^2.

5. Subtract 7 from 11 to get the height of the triangle, the multiply it by 1/2*7 to get 4*7*1/2=14 The do 7*7 to get 49 and add it to 14. So the answer is 63 m^2.

6. The part you sectioned made a square(6 x 6) and a rectangle (6*12). So adding these two areas, 6*6=36, and 12*6=72, 36+76=104 So the answer is 104 yd^2.

Hope this helps! :P

1. First, do 12 x 8 to work out the area of the rectangle, which is 96ft.
Then, to work out the area of a circle, you use the equation πr² to help you. You would multiply π by the radius², which is 16. Now you have just worked out the area of a circle, but not a semicircle, so you would have to divide your answer by two to get the area of this, which would be 25.13 (rounded to 2 d.p).
To get the area of the whole shape, you just have to add the two totals together.
25.13 + 96 = 121.13ft.
Remember to put the units there, or you can lose marks.

Try your best with the next questions! I have written the formulas for the other shapes to help you work out the answers.

Area of a square = Multiply sides together.
Area of rectangle = Multiply width by length.
Area of a circle = Multiply π by the radius².
Area of a semicircle = Multiply π by the radius², and the divide by two.
Area of a triangle = Multiply the base by the height, and then divide by two.

Really hope this helps!
