This problem has to do with distributing, so you would multiply the 4 by the 6 and the 4 by the (-)x. Once you did that you would have 24-4x=52. You would then get rid of the constant, so you would subtract 24 from both sides. Once you did that you would have -4x=28. You would then try to get x by itself, so you would divide each side by -4, which gives you your answer: x=-7
