Central place theory happens to be a geographical theory that explains the number, location, and size of human settlements in the eyes a residential system. The theory was created by a German man, who went by the name of Walter Christaller, who was a geographer. he asserted that settlements simply functioned as 'central places' providing services to surrounding areas.
