Of the following given choices;

a. It is converted into solar energy in the chloroplasts

b. It can be used directly as a building block in protein synthesis.

c. It can be used during the digestion of fats.

d. It is used during cellular respiration in the mitochondria

The answer is; D

Glucose is made from photosynthesis in plants. It is formed through the reduction of carbon dioxide. The energy from light photons tapped by chlorophyll is used to split a water molecule into H+ and O2-. The H+ ions are used to reduce CO2 according to the formulae below;

6CO2 + 6H2O (Sunlight energy)------> C6H12O6 + 6O2.
